One of the reasons, the dog-themed token which began as a joke came to the limelight. Dogecoin has soared to become the 10th largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. At the time of writing, the market cap of DOGE is approximately $8 billion and it is trading at $0.06.
To show support for the memecoin, Elon Musk’s Tesla moved to adopt the DOGE as a payment method in 2021. This has been a major catalyst to the price growth of the memecoin coupled with the billionaire’s frequent positive tweets about the project.
